Faye Lagares

I started in Reservations for approximately 8 months in 1981 right after college. When my seniority came up, I accepted the Flight Attendant position and lasted there for approximately 3 years before transferring to Human Resources as a Recruiter for Reservations and Flight Attendants.

After Continental Airlines took over, Barham Lewis ( then HR Director of Continental) transferred me to Newark Airport where I established the HR office. I left in 1989 and came to Citibank where I have been ever since. I am currently the HR Director supporting the Retail Operations Division.

New York Air was by far the best experience I ever had. We were young, vibrant and just plain wanted the company to succeed. I even remember all of us taking pay cuts and taking leaves of absences to support the company during the early days because the price of oil and the Air Traffic Controller strike took a huge bite out of our profit margin.
