Had it continued to fly, New York Air would have been 31 years old this year, 2012.

So, we decided to celebrate!

Originally planned for 2011, unfortunately, we couldn't resolve schedule conflicts and the availability of space.

We have set the date. It's

June 29, 2012 from 8 pm to 1 am.

At

Terrace On the Park.

Reservations opened officially on Monday, February 13, 2012

Use the Register to Attend form to let us know where you are and how we can contact you if you are on the missing list or not on any list at all.

You must complete a Register to Attend form for several reasons. One is to make sure you have a seat. Second, we have to provide a headcount to Terrace on the Park to enable them to provide food, drink and other amenities. We have signed a contract guaranteeing 400 people. As of the moment, we have 106 reservations.

There are about 300 people on the Missing Persons list. There are around 1,000 people on the Master List of NYA Employees. This includes missing persons, attendees and non-attendees from 2006 plus those who indicated they wanted to be notified about future events.

Being on the missing list doesn't mean that you don't exist, just that we have no information with which to contact you.

Hope to see you on June 29, 2012!

Updates for March 31, 2012

Here's some airline news you might be interested in. Believe it or not, People Express is starting up again. Or, maybe I should say, an airline calling itself People Express is starting up. They will apparently be based in Virginia at the Newport News Airport. Only a couple of people from the original airline are mentioned. Donald Burr, founder of the original People Express, apparently is not involved.

How many of you would like to see New York Air start up again? Though I'm somewhat older, I'm willing and able to repeat my part with new ideas! Maybe if a certain person residing in Texas would say, "Let's do it," we would all head for Hangar 3 at LGA.

Back to the NYA Reunion.

The Attendees list for 2006 is inaccurate because many people on the list didn't attend and also because many people showed up who weren't necessarily on the Attendees list. This highlights the importance of filling out the Register to Attend form whether you are coming or not.

New this year, we  need to know the name(s) of your guest(s), companion(s), spouse(s) or offspring who are coming with you and, if they were also employees of NYA, position information. This will guarantee that everyone who comes gets an invaluable NYA Reunion Name Tag.

The Missing People list is more accurate than it was in 2006, but many on it are still missing. So, if you know the whereabouts of anyone on the Missing People list, let me know. If you know of someone who is not on any list, let me know.

Check out Photos and Comments from the 2006 Reunion. Anyone who took photos that are not on the website is invited to send them to me.

Photos from the official photographer are posted. Photos posted on Passrider have been taken down on that site. I am trying to get them back up or available for posting on this site.

Several people have asked whether the website will remain and will be updated. The answer is a resounding "Yes!" The site was secured for 12 years. It will be updated as news, photos, comments, suggestions, etc. come in.

Several people have also asked about making everyone's contact information available to everyone else. While it would be easy to post all of this on the website, I think it inadvisable for security reasons and because the spammers and hackers would love getting their hands on such a list. In fact the registration form is already being hacked by some idiot. I'm working on a way of blocking unauthorized access.

Temporarily, if there is a particular person any of you want to contact, send an e-mail to me and it will be forwarded.

If you want to opt out of any such listing, please let me know.

On various social media, you will find people from New York Air. Check out Plaxo.com, LinkedIn.com and Facebook.com. Linkedin has a group devoted to airlines. You'll find me on their looking, like others, for work. Of course you will have to join to do any checking out.

There is a New York Air Group on Facebook. To join it, you must be a Facebook user, of course, but you also must be invited to join by someone who is already a member of the New York Air Group.

Your web contact, Joe Wright
